On November 5, 2023, a delegation comprising several current and future leaders of IEEE, including President and CEO Saifur Rahman, President-elect Tom Coughlin, and Chairman of IEEE Standards Association Yuan Yu, visited UTEPO for a tour and technical exchange, supporting the establishment of the PoE Technology and Application Alliance and further promoting the implementation of international standards.

ABOUT PoE Technology and Application Alliance

The PoE Technology and Application Alliance is jointly established by relevant enterprises, standard organizations, industrial associations, and others to build a communication platform for connecting with IEEE standards to promote technological exchange and cooperation between enterprises, achieve resource sharing and value output, and at the same time construct a perceptible IoT access network system.

Objective

To build a perceptual IoT access network based on Ethernet power supply technology, achieve the integration of network and power, and promote the goal of strengthening the country's foundation. Encourage units within the alliance to actively participate in international standard cooperation with IEEE.

Function

Mainly include planning and designing for perceptual IoT access network industry and international standards, cooperation with IEEE in relevant international standards formulation, organization of expert visits to enterprises for research, and promotion of exchange and cooperation among experts, scholars, and engineers from various units within the alliance.

As a leading global provider of new-generation smart networking and PoE solutions, UTEPO's strength and influence in the fields of Internet of Things, communication and computer, and artificial intelligence, as well as its contribution to the development of industry technology, the alliance will establish a secretariat based on it as the coordinating and service organization. Currently, the relevant preparations are proceeding in an orderly manner, and a preparatory group working meeting for the alliance is to be held in Shenzhen on November 8, 2023.
